Make a special specific version compatible with manifest v2 for supermium web browser and catsxp web browser which are compatible with modern Windows 10/11 os and which will keep support for manifest v2 so the extension will no longer be limited censored by the very restrictive manifest v3, or make a special version for palemoon/basilisk web browsers if the apocalypse manifest v3 is generalized to all web browsers! #386

Hello, the catastrophe manifest v3 is generalized to many extensions and will make extensions less powerful and censored limited weak, like ad blockers which become weaker less effective, and perhaps this limitation also applies to video download extensions , so my request please make a special specific version compatible with manifest v2 for supermium web browser and catsxp web browser and thorium legacy, vivaldi, brave which are compatible with modern Windows 10/11 os and which will keep support for manifest v2 so the extension video downloader will no longer be limited censored by the very restrictive manifest v3, or make a special version for palemoon/basilisk web browsers if the apocalypse manifest v3 is generalized to all web browsers!

so we can continue to install the video downloader manifest v2 extensions in supermium browser, catsxp browser.... outside the dictatorship of the stores and without the unfair limitation of manifest v3!

Thank you so much!

Sorry, unable to comply
The extension is based on manifest v3 and has been developed for a long time. Please download the last version of manifest v2, which is 1.0.16

We understand , thank you Mr @xifangczy :)

It was just a suugestion just in case the extensions encounter any possible problems....

We note that Catsxp, one of the rare web browsers to support the v2 manifest, natively integrates our beloved Cat-catcher and that's how I was able to discover the existence of the magnificent Cat-catcher extension :)

and I also spoke with the developer of Brisk donwload manager who develops an extension for web browsers and here is his answer...ahh he deleted his answer but he told me for the moment, he uses the v3 manifest but when he is going to implement more complex functions, he can implement the v2 manifest which seems the only reliable solution to implement such complicated functions....

and here is what he wrote as a reference and memo in the issue manifest v2:

"To maximize download speed at all times, the ultimate solution is to reuse connections that have received their designated bytes and dynamically segment the bytes of other connections.

e.g. Connection 2 and 3 have finished downloading and connection 1 is still receiving bytes. In this case, connections 2 and 3 each should be assigned to receive 1/3 of the remaining bytes of connection 1. By doing so, all connections will remain active at all times and the download speed will be boosted in cases with slow download speed on single connections."

The algorithm will most likely be complicated to implement and requires extremely rigorous testing to ensure stability and prevent file corruption."

Hello Mr @xifangczy , i discuss with a developer about this issue and he says to me : "This extension offers the m2 compatible version for Firefox. You can download the XPI from AMO website and change the extension to "ZIP" and use it on a Chromium-based browser."

so if Cat-catch support firefox web browser, manifest v2 already exists in Cat-catch for firefox in the store of mozilla, that's right ?
